"Casablanca" clarifies deal with R. Kelly

Luanda – The show promoting house “Casablanca Produções” said Sunday in Luanda it signed a contract with representatives of the US singer, R.Kelly, for a show on August 27 in the Angolan capital.


According to a press release that reached Angop on Sunday, “Casablanca” considers as groundless an article carried in the latest edition of the privately-owned weekly “O País” alleging the existence of a polemic in the trip to Angola of R.Kelly.


In an interview in the said newspaper, the ex-model and events promoter, Karina Barbosa, denies the existence of a contract between “Casablanca” and representatives of the US singer.


"Casablanca reaffirms it is just taking the advantage of the presence of the singer in the Angolan soil, invited by Unitel and Step Models, to provide the fans and lovers of music with an opportunity for entertainment (….),” reads the note.

The release explains that in no moment “Casablanca” attempted to usurp the rights of Unitel and Step Models, but states that it is in a position to prove with documents that there is actually a deal with R. Kelly.

Great news. I believe the previous shows in other African countries got a lot to do with this. I wouldn't be surprised if he visits more and more African countries further down the road. It's a domino effect. The MV project is under way, in a sense. Now it's a matter of time&label politics to actually get the job done.
