So it wasnt WIDE but it was a story on the net. The regular print media is dead IMO anyway.

I think they released the statement because he has become real sensitive (as well he should be) about the use of his name. With the crap that has happened with the BOBW tour, the scams of Rowe Entertainment with the last tour, and the most recent nightclub promotors incident he is probably trying desperately to control the usage of his name. I don't think his former publicist understood that concept very well but the new people probably had made it clear that it is time to reel in the reigns and stop letting people take advantage of him.

That woman probably has that money in the Cayman's or a Swiss account and waiting it out until her sentence is over and will be living large. Just told the police that she put the money in his account so they would stop looking for it and go after him.

Kelly's spokesman, Allan Meyer, questioned the validity of the report, saying Kelly had never heard of Zakwe and had not been approached by authorities.


"Robert doesn't know this woman and has not been contacted by any law-enforcement authorities," Meyer said. "He would cooperate fully with any legitimate investigation of this matter, since he has nothing to hide."

An FBI spokesman said he's not aware of any contact between the agency and South African authorities.

"He wasn't thinking about a South African tour in 2005," Meyer said. "He was focused on his trial."

Kelly, who was acquitted in June, has maintained a low profile since his high-profile trial. Meyer said he has spent the last two months in the recording studio and plans to release a new album, "12 Play: Fourth Quarter," in the fall.
