Thread: whats missing from RK Live?

his voice is powerful and soulful

good pacing

however his performance on soul train and fallon moved me far more and i dug him on the show when he did when a woman loves and i believe i can fly.


i want the band to put some stank on stage and a live orchestra and some strings.

he could do the whole love letter album and sign of victory and i'd be cool.


he sounds still real good and i know a full band grooving behind him would be the icing on the cake imo.

He needs a complete revamp imo

He’s been running with the same script for the past 5 years now, the majority of fans in the UK & Europe wouldn’t have noticed this but he is in danger of being seen for what it is on his upcoming US tour

His freestyles are awesome & original & will always go down well ... his snippets are cool to maybe showcase old school Kells & the classics but he needs to shuffle the pack! ... I think with Love Letter I think he needs to spend 20-30 mins on that at least ... WAWL, Radio Message, Love Letter, #1 Hit etc ... I hope he does it for the US because his vocals are peeking right now ... American fans won’t let him get away with a 1hr 15min show so he needs to have something up his sleeve

100% agree with this 12PLR. He needs to switch it up and is vocals really are hitting a new peak. My freinds who are now converted R. Kelly fans, were saying a lot how good he was and how efforltess it seemed. I definitely like that about him. Rob comes to sing to you rather than put on a flashing lights show. BUT, as you say, its time for a chnage in vibe. I think having a full orhestra would be outstanding and would raise his credibility another notch higher. It would be one of the most powerful sounds ever. R. Kelly's voice, backed by strings, horns and percussion! Wow! If he brought that out with an extensive LL set in America, then he truly will 'Make The World Dance'...

The shows are amazing as they are but there does need to be a change, and more full songs are needed. And more songs from Love Letter.

Definitely agree with everyone; he needs to add that orchestra backing (could be half or full) but he needs to add some more of that classy, opera-esque feeling to the show.

I know people that went for his second show in Lagos and they were rather disappointed that besides the performance of WAWL and I Believe I Can Fly, it was basically the same show he did a year earlier...

If he wants to keep the tour $ rolling in he needs to revamp for the LL tour, starting with the US; especially since he has Marsha (quite talented) on the bill as well. We don't any stories of any artist 'upstaging' him..

Lol, puhleaseee! Marsha isn't much of a "Wow" factor and neither Marsha or Keyshia will upstage him.

- He needs a FULL band. I'm talking about the horns and strings, not just the guitar and drums. We should all tweet Ann about this. Maybe, she can drill the idea in his head. Sorry, but his band (Donny Lyles aside) is too amateur for his voice.

I agree with full band notion. Plus, I would llove to hear him jam with his band more. I am not saying he has to go all out with them his entire show but definitely jam together and switch up a couple songs letting the band get off. He definitely needs to do more full songs and do more songs from LL this time around.

The problem is that people tell him to do things but when he does the show he just does his own thing. The LIU tour was his best work so far. But like y'all said he should try something different and new now. With this love letter album he has a quality album and with his voice at this moment he can do miracles! When he did "I Believe I Can Fly" live in Amsterdam, the whole crowd, all the almost 6,000 people was feeling the energy, the spirit of the song, same as "When A Woman Loves" i really think that he should do more full songs!
