Thread: what you want from R.Kelly next musically?

rumors and album titles and projects been floating around lately over the past few months so what would you want next to be his next offical release and why?

I guess maxxx I don't care as long as it gets critical and commercial success. I would love another critically acclaimed album where the masses give nothing but praise, but I would love a couple top 40 or top 10 smashes. Personly I would love love letter 2, but I think another 12 play would be a classic and a smash. Could you imagine a modern day 2011 bump n grind. I think love letter 2 singles could be huge too. There is a certain x factor to him again not seen since the chocolate factory era where everything involved with him is a smash, and the people and critics love what he's doing
..either way it will be special!

Lol id like anything he decides to do....id rather him not work with any rappers, just him all R&B/slow jams but i guess it'll be his choice!

I'm torn. lol Of course I love the style of Love Letter, however, I kinda want to hear something more-so in the vein of 12Play. Ideally, I would like to hear something like 12Play+R.Kelly+TP-2.com+Chocolate Factory/Loveland combined. Songs that are introspective, romantic/sensual, and sexual. Love; the ups and downs. Along those lines. He's pretty much proven what he can do. The question is, what can't he do!? lol I'm just in the mood of going back to the style of TP-2.com/Chocolate Factory-ish type songs.

-Oh yeah, and I think I would like either no features or at the very least, 2. And "all songs written, produced, & arranged by R.Kelly".

I say ride with the Love Letter style/format. It's grown and classy music.

I think I want more R. And 12 play type of songs from him....songs like When a woman's fed up or A woman's threat....because Rob is an extremist, I knw the next album is gonna be wild...lol but I want more story telling type songs...

Love Letter is still in the marinate...so more singles and videos ...and extra dvds from the love letter tour woukd be perfect...similar to the light it up dvd...all to show case the love letter era of his career...and then we can move on to either 12 play album...or the 24 hrs of sex....take note the 12 play album was in an interveiw notmentioned in the club while being drunk lol...so its still gonna be big whatever we get next...damn he has set the bar very high..

Not sure about this. I think about it every day! The problem with another 'sex' album is that he might lose audiences, just as he'd started to refind them. I can't help but feel that an album like '24 hours of sex' would alienate him from acclaim and shows like Jools Holland, and he'd fall back in to the stereotype people put him in.

At the same time, I'm not sure he can do another Love letter-style album. That would make 'Love Letter' a bit pointless. This album is a one-off.

I think i agree with LoveLeila and LovelyLP. Brin back an 'R.' type album. Let's have some gritty, intropsective work, but keeping the soul alive. I don't really want features, but I think I want a hit song out of it.

To summarise I don't know what i want, but I do know that Rob really needs to stop and think about what he does next. It's really important because he's expanded his fan-base a lot with 'Love Letter'.

I totally agree w/ u but the problem is a lot of his fan base couldn't get into LL because they thought it was too slow or boring...lol sad I knw...I just think he should stick 2 the 12 play concept and call it a day...lol

I would rather Kellz and Kanye done a few songs together rather than a whole album.

I think Love Letter should be a stand alone album and there shouldn't be a part 2.

And I agree with the others that have said 24 Hours of Sex could make people that have re-found him over Love Letter go back off him.

Out of the choices I'd rather a new 12 Play Album, although it needs to drop The Return of the Living Dead name.

I think i'd prefer something completely different than them all though, I like the idea of another R. type album.
