Thread: ...THEE Most DARKEST SONG...

I've always thought, compared to some other artists, he's had a lot fewer dark songs in his entire discography.
By "dark", I mean 2 things combined:


1> the kind of mood or emotion in music that describes pessimistic views, aggressiveness, self-depreciation, paranoia, trauma, deep-rooted hatred, despair, etc.
2> the kind of melody that sounds "dark"
(can't find the right word now), with a minor key, a heavy base, haunting lyrics, etc.


The most darkest music I've ever heard so far, the 1st thing that comes to mind is Trip hop like, The Prodigy, Massive Attack, etc. and some Hiphop tunes

...Do you see where I'm going with this topic?...

Compared to the type of artists' music, his dark songs sounds like it has a room for a glimmer of light or dimmed light, while, from some of those artists' work, it feels like being in an endless pit where it's completely dark.


So....what is THEE most darkest song out of his?
We can think about both the ones he put on his own albums and he made for others.

I wish is a sad story.....

its written about his deep struggle "waking up crying tears" about the death of a close friend......and his issues about people not liking him for him....."what if i wasnt iced up with a bentley and a house" .....explaining people maybe using him and showing no trust within his inner circle.....

you have two forms of death in that song.....between the physical death of a friend and the emotional death of growing distrust between him and his inner group

But if I have to keep in mind that the title starts with "THEE most",
I would say,...

Life

"Somebody gave me life"
-Yeah, "somebody"...this is the key word.
You don't know who gave you life and how it was given.
The life sentence can be either a literal one or a figurative one.
Either way, the situation is crazy enough to make you go crazy.

The instrumental sounds heavy and solemn. Bluesy.

Somebody might say like, "He shouts too damn much!", but what else would you (be able to) do if you were to sing and kinda play the character in the song?
And it might sound as if all he did was scream at the top of his lungs, but it ain't easy to sing like that and still maintain control in your voice.
In Korean, the kind of singing style is compared to "throwing up (food)."
Like, you have a severe stomachache and at some point, you can't take it anymore, that's when you give in and throw up. After that, you feel better.

I agree Dizl, Heaven I Need A Hug is dark and sad. He put it all out there in that song. Talked about his problems with his siblings and everything. That song was nothing but raw hurt and emotion.
