the album wont sell as much because its basically...horrible (to say it nicely)...the bottom 15 in my collection and his worst...

the album wont sell because as much as his other albums because its so different from his other and its bad NOT because of the sluggish sales

"The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill" and "Double Up" are incompareable
i disagree on this being his worst. or even in the middle. if this is his worst we have MANY things to be happy about.

and the facts and figures from industry averages, current album sales in his genre and overall sales forecasts and certified sales figures suggest that the industry is down anywhere from 10-20%. so i think sales slumps have a lot to do with it.

but you are right....outside of this conversation DU and M of LH are incomaprable. but since we were in that type of coversation that context was used.

double up will always be a point of contraversy for his fans. every great artist has them.

no significance to rap/hip-hop whatsoever....its no different than bobw albums.....people dont talk about those ..at all....now r. kelly will always put out good music.even on sub-par albums..but what hes doing now is just goin with the blueprint that artists nowhere on his level.has made..no if thats where he's at in his life well i guess as a fan I have to deal with that.. but please dont confuse genuis work, or a great album (which double up is not) , with an album with selling power, and or potential singles.(which it is)..its not the rap/hip-hop people buying this either....its kelly's same fans who always buy his stuff.

Real RK nailed the sentiments exactly and at the end of the day the same of us who always buy his stuff still buy it,but if this album was meant to get a different audience well it didn't do it's purpose. some cute hits, but not that Album that is gonna be talked in years to come.Real knocked it out the box properly I bought it as I do all o fhis other albums, but at the same time i got my you are gonna get heavy rotation pile, the good but not great pile where i bump way over half the disc, then the average pile where i bump 2-3 tracks and then move on.
