can't call this album a 5 because of two seater, hair-braider, screamer, and skin. that is 4 tracks right there.

now we got 9 other tracks and about 4-5 of them are really to very Good and then the others are cool. but that don't mean a Classic to me.

also when I know a artist is presenting a throwaway album to a label to finish up a contract then that alone tells me that while there is a commerical song or 3 on there you ain't expecting classic tracks.

it's cool to debate and have our differences that makes the world go round period.

IMO I don't even believe that R.kelly is gonna say with a straight face this is his best,best stuff but it has some good things in there and there are hits but I don't hear no "MONEY IT" track.and it feels like a artist who said i will give you this and it is time to move on.

the album is a modern sounding album with some throwback moments.

Anyway...

Personally, I have heard the comments about R.Kelly's rap, hip hop, non R&B, new age R&B, commercialized, pop (etc etc etc, you get it) music now for years on this board and the old one.

Members went at it with a voracity only seen on other sites, but most certainly NOT on a website that has the URLs of: 12-play.net, rkellyforums.net, rkellyforums.com.

So...Now when these allegations and comments are exposed and brought to the forefront as more than just "that thing that sometimes people talk about" those that have made those comments back off?

--All of a sudden the ratings scale "may be" tougher for them than for other members.

--All of a sudden those comments previously made were taken out of context or should have been taken "differently".

...and all of a sudden we are splitting hairs?! When those sometimes scathing and negative comments were anything BUT subtle, left to interpretation or minor...

I guess that is where I lost my faith in that type of "constructive criticism" of this type of music.

Well, I find it kinda sad but that's probably what was to be expected. Looks like neither side wants to understand the other.

I gave this album 4Rs but as I've gotten a chance to really listen to some of the songs, I now give it a 4.25Rs

12 Play 4th Quarter goes in the right direction I think. Less hiphop songs, more slow jams. .......... First of all I really miss those ballads, those love songs that don't go strictly to the bedroom. ......... The same goes for the fucking vocoder. Co-signs these parts. But also think, for what I like, that is balanced. It have a moved song, an inspirational song (Relief) and a lot of slow jams. Love it.

That it have a lot of explicit songs, well, I think that was the point of the 12play series, I mean, starting with the original one with Sex Me, etc.
