What kind of album do you want from Kellz? Tell Us.....
You have to be prepared to show people how much you don't give a fuck at all times.
i think 12 play fourth quater is good just need a stand out hit like ignition remix or step in the name of love
If this is a serious question, I will be happy to try to answer it tomorrow. It's too late now.
This is a serious question.
But I think we also want SERIOUS ANSWERS.
This is in No-Way directed at you TheR. You just happened to reply:
Before any of you who want to reply to this thread reply ask yourself this: How feasible are my "wants". And by feasible I mean, how REALISTIC are my wants.

album is great just needs to get rid of Two Seater and put in a real smash single or two. I'll eleborate later when I have more time.
"'Let me remind you that I am the king of R&B.' It's an unnecessary boast: Who could possibly argue, or forget?" - Kelefa Sanneh; the New York Times; 2007
12 Play 4th Quarter goes in the right direction I think. Less hiphop songs, more slow jams. But there are a few things missing for me.
First of all I really miss those ballads, those love songs that don't go strictly to the bedroom. When it comes to songs about sex I'd prefer less explict lyrics. No "tossing the salad" no "open up your legs girl". This might me cool for one or two songs but it's like porn and it's some kind of dulling.
On the musical side I would prefer instrumentals instead of beats. I know this is the way all of the new and hot R&B acts do it but it just sounds cheap and synthetic after a while. The same goes for the fucking vocoder. It was cool for "Leave your name" and "Screamer" but that's it.
I'd also like to see some courage to experiment with different styles or instruments and I'm not even thinking of the MV right here. "Snake" or "Whos that" are good examples I think. And they're also good examples for hiphop song that I like. I don't mind hiphop on R. Kelly albums in general and it has been a part of him since the early days but I don't feel most of the crap that is hot right now.
I also want some more song about serious topics. I miss those songs like "Gotham City", "If I could turn back the hands of time" or "When a woman's fed up". I don't like songs which, in fact are about serious topics but he makes them look ludicrous like "Might be mine" or "Kickin it with your girlfriend".
I feel like a few years ago there was more emotion in his songs. He doesn't have to sing as raw as back in 1993 but especially on the new album it seems as if his voice can't afford that much strengh as it could a few years back. I hope I am wrong though.
However, these are a few points that came to my mind. I know that's not a concept for a new album and I wanna leave that up to R. Kelly but it might give you an impression of what I've been missing on 12 Play 4th Quarter.

i personally would like more straight love songs like chocolate factory, a song or two like i wish/heaven i need a hug/ been around the world, and maybe one inspirational type song but relief damn near does the job 4 me
another album along the lines of TP3 and double up in a scattered kind of way.
i like the R&B direction but I think there isn't a balance of the slow jams that speak on a vairety of topics.
songs needed more instrumentation and as much as I dig all of his steppers jams and I like "Relief" that song could have used some brass and woodwinds or a nasty bridge or solo in there. it was screaming to be something extra nasty on the groove tip.
i think instrumentation and expanding would be something and that is why i get more hyped about the Musical virus stuff then what is released because alot of what is released sounds and feels like he is just going through the motions. not knocking all of it because he still brings it,but there is a feeling of it missing that killer song or some more instrumentation on it.
you see I hear a song like "I Like Love" or a cut like " don't let go",touched a dream, up and outta here, take my time tonight that is the balance there. i dig the humor tracks here and there along with a occasion hip-hop track, but while this Project is a step in the Right direction, i just feel that the Money lead off cut is MIA again.
when he bounces from Jive it will be real interesting at what direction he goes in.
problem is the outside Producers and Co Writers ain't challenging him either and they sound like hired hands to make tracks too close to what he already does than to take him other places. A Smart outside Producer would take Kellz on that sam cooke.booby womack,chi-lites soul and natural vibe he has.
bottom line OG Kellz fans just been spolied.

And I can see your and Mixmaster's points.
I just wish that some of the more......"choosy"......members would evaluate the new music from an unbiased and fresh perspective.
Seems to me that the old tired argument of "well, THAT aint no 'Bump and Grind' or 'I Wish" is getting pretty old.
What really chaps my ass is this: IT seems like 12-Play 4Q was a rough draft outlining ALL OF THE HATERS comments on the web and even on this site. Every song. One by one.
And still has a hard time getting love?
