Thread: Kellz on Chris Browns next album

Jive Records was none too thrilled when a new Chris Brown song, "Wall to Wall," leaked in May to New York radio station WQHT (Hot 97), more than four months before the artist's sophomore album, "Exclusive," was due to hit stores. But they have to be pleased with the results: the song has climbed for five straight weeks on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, placing at No. 22 this issue.

"I didn't know we were going to surprise [Jive] like that," songwriter/producer Garrett says of "Wall," which unexpectedly became the first single from "Exclusive," due Aug. 28. "But it's giving us a great kickoff. Chris was ready to go. He's antsy."

In addition to Bryan-Michael Cox and Garrett, among the contributors on "Exclusive" are Dre & Vidal, Scott Storch and the Underdogs. Coming in as part of the expansion team are will.i.am, T-Pain, Stargate, Justin Timberlake and Timbaland,R. Kelly and Pharrell.

i read the 1st two lines of this story early this morning and didnt even bother.

i dont like chris brown.......but if i would have kept on reading i would have seen the R.Kelly mention. nice work and thanks for the post.

Bryan Cox is a snooze machine and he proved it with some of the songs on Joe's latest. of course jive is going to throw everything but the kitchen sink at this album.

Maybe it'll be that song that didn't make his debut albums' final cut

I'll probably grab this album right off if R. Kelly's on it. I feel pretty indifferent to Chris Brown himself, though.

If Kellz gets in on a song, I'll just buy it off iTunes. I've never been interested in this Chris Brown kid.

the only reason i would get this album is for the r. kelly track, to add to my collection, i certainly wouldn't to listen to chris brown, i don't think much of him or his music!
