Thread: If I Could Turn Back The Hands of Time????

I got into a lil debate about R.Kelly's If I could turn back the hands of time. SOmeone was tellin me that r. kelly re-made that song. I kept telling them that he didnt and that he wrote that song and the music. I remember R.Kelly saying that him and his mom sang some this song together before she died. I dont know if they're getting this song mixed up with another old school song. but as far as I know, r.kelly wrote that song.

Do any of you know what song THEY might be gettin it mixed up with?????? I told them if they knew what song, to show me!!!!

Yeah he re-made the song because think I remember someone else singing the song. Plus why would Jive put it on the Remix bonus disc of The R. In R&B

Yeah its on my Limited Edition Version of The R. In R&B disc 2 which is a Bonus disc with Remixes such as Bump N Grind Ol'Skool Mix, Down Low (Nobody Has To Know Live to regret it mix), I Can't Sleep Baby (If I) Remix, Gotham City (Remix) and I If Could Turn Back The Hands of Time

I have both versions of The R. in R&B and it's not on my bonus disc. All the others you mentioned are on it but no If i could turn back the hands of time. And as far as i know it's his song, they mixed up with some other song i think

As far as I know, R. found an old tape where him and his mother were singing a song that sounded alike If I could turn back the hands of time. He was inspired by that tape and wrote new song. That's what I heard.

I think the music was taken from an old Sam Cooke song, buy the lyrics were R Kelly's...don't quote me on this.

I think what Mixmaster said is true. We've had the discussion on the old board before.
But I'm sure he didn't remake any other artist's song, cause then it would be credited in the booklet. There were a couple of samples on the R. album as far as I remember, and all were credited. Besides, not crediting a remade song is theft.

yeah thats what someone told me.....but I told them that it wasnt the same song. I wouldve known cuz it wouldve gaved me another reason to watch the movie.....lol. but yeah thats what I think they're getting it confused with!!!! THANKS
