Default Have you noticed that lately.....

Am I the only one that notices how ppl are like falling head over heels in luv w/ Rob's voice?

If u go on various youtube videos of him singing "When a woman loves" or even the soul train performance, ppl have admitted to crying after hearing his voice...I can recall years ago, ppl saying kellz couldn't sing but he can write the hell out of a song....

In my opinion, his recent performances are mesmerizing ppl....I wonder is that a gift from God? Maybe...

what do u guys think about his recent performances and ppl's reactions to them....

I think it's kinda funny people are just now catching on. The man's voice has been amazing from the jump. They're like "OMG, R.Kelly's a genius!", or "that man can SANG!". lol I'm like, "uh yeah... where have you been!? This has been proven". I mean, what else do you need to hear to be convinced!? lbs But one thing that bothers me is when they say he's "back", or he "reclaimed his throne". As far as I'm concerned, he never went anywhere and never gave up or lost his throne. These people have short memories, and/or some of them don't know the history anyway, and have gotten used to some of these "artists" putting songs out repeatedly that get played all over tv and radio in rotation, that they think because they don't see him all over tv or hear him all over radio just as much, or don't see him "out and about", that means he "fell off". They've gotten used to the "microwave/fast food music", and that's what they're (easily) impressed by (because there's so much of it nowadays). What R-ruh does is that real, "home-cooked meal music". I can admit, sometimes I feel like I'd like to hear from him more in terms of just seeing him or getting updated on the music, but at the same time, I'm glad he's not as all over the place as the others, because it ups the appreciation when he does drop another album/project, and keeps people amazed and in awe. You can see just how much of a difference his quality of music is versus the mediocre or lower that's out there. It's like they need a little reminder every now and then (when he drops something new), of just how great he is & this is what he does. And the fact he's able to even do what he does, & on the level he does it, is a gift from God.

U took the words right out of my mouth...that annoys me but I have to remember our society is use to attention whores who will do anything to be feature on the latest magazine or blog site...so when they see Kellz being low key, they come up w/ all type of assumptions...like he's bitter and jealous, when he's actually working on his craft..

i think time is making people appreciate and respect.

you lose a michael jackson and there is a obvious void and you start to look around and look to see who has those goods,etc..

so you allowed the media and folks talk about kellz and he has his own issues in it.

he also caused some of the doubt for making what i'd call so-so music after the happy people album aside frrom a trapped in the closet, kickin it with your girlfriend, wind for me,and a few other cuts,it was hit and miss imo from 05-09

then he brought out when a woman loves and he seemed motivated. i think going to africa, mj's passing ronald isley being on lock down for a minute, just getting over his own case and divorce put the focus back to making him challenge himself again and say i'm going to do this all the way.

imo he is a beast live on stage, in the past i'd say he had great moments, very good, pretty good, really good, good, but now live he is must see moey.

i think R.Kelly made a strong quality record and songs that showcased his talents and folks are feeling it.

its cute to do "i'm a flirt" or a side cut with Snoop or whomever else, however in the long run you are too talented to making 3rd tier club tracks or using auto tone type tracks.

glad he elected to sing again and write songs and bring it live, because when he does it right nobody can see him imo.

^On the back of that live thing, if the playlist for the European Tour is correct then he wont be singing a single song from TP3, Double Up, or Untitled. That is somewhat of an acknowledgement that albeit the songs were good, they were not quite in line with his full quality and legacy. That in itself shows that he's alot more self aware than people give him credit for, and he realised that for a certain period of time he had to play the game and go with the flow.

A few people have said that they'd like him to switch up from the snippets, but I think this tour will actually be the pinnacle of that format because this is the 4th year he's been doing it, he now knows exactly what works (and what doesnt) he's added 'If I Could Turn Back The Hands of Time' and has also got at least 2 modern day classic cuts that will be in the set ('When a Woman Loves', and 'Radio Message).

Ive got a feeling this is the tour that he's going to be most proud of, and with all the appearances and projects he has in the pipeline 2011 is, and is continuing to be, 1 helluva a year!

^Shoot, apart from 'In The Kitchen' but that's not really a song you associate with TP3 because he was performing that accapella 2 years before the album dropped. However 'Im a Flirt' and 'Freaky In the Club' have both been removed, although it would have been nice to hear them both - especially Freaky, but the playlist is super tight so I aint complaining 1 iota!

I honestly do not like bandwagonners, because its kind of disrespectful to the true fans that have loved him all along for so many years, but like they say,it is what it is, right? Lets see if something goes bad for whatever reason, if they will bounce on him, like kellz bounced the bball while playing for the seagulls, then we true fans will see the fakes from the real, (kellzgirl69 true fan til i die!)
