    Beef w/ TP3?

I cant help but notice on recent polls and discussions on this board and the old board that all of us seem to have a disagreement with TP3 or some kind of grudge against it?

    :

I think its a fine album. Worth of its platinum status and frequent rotation on ANY R-and-B listeners playlist.

I think there are a couple of reason why I sometimes look down on this album:

    1. Choclate Factory and TP2 were such GREAT albums that TP3 alway seems to fall short...
    -----and-----
    2. Jive Promotion (as usual with these bozos)

    What do yall think?

I honestly think TP3 was crappy( Slow Wind, Touchin' Remote Control was good).... it was nothing like TP2. Tp3 it was more of a rap album in a way. TP2 was the closest I think to 12 play. Tp3 isnt near TP2. He needs to sing more.

TP2 had wonderful songs The Greatest Sex, Dont Mean It, I Wish, Just Like That, A Womans Threat, I Decided, All I Really Want.

U can play the album straight threw. Tp3 I skipped some songs....

Kells needs to get bacc to singing and leave the rap alone and talking singing actually sing like Dedicated or Trade in My Life, THe Greatest Sex....
    fan forever

    i kinda agree too.

its kind of hard to follow up albums like tp2 and cf.

personally i enjoyed the tracks you mentioned plus: KIWYG and happy summertime.

i agree that the 'sing rap' style is good when he is doing a collabo ON SOMEONE ELSES ALBUM. he should be the "R IN R AND B" on HIS albums..........

Trapped in the closet dominated the whole Project basically. Slow Wind was tight as was a few other slow cuts. heck I could groove to :Happy Summertime" but having tracks with Baby Williams,Elephant Man was out of place. the Album felt like it was just thrown together by Kellz&Jive. versatile Album, but yet unfocused. IMO.

i agree with u guys, i think they just put something 2gether to go around titc.....the result the weekest of the post tp-2 albums for the R. slow wind was MY song....i feel like i wrote it..but besides that ..the music of the slow songs was tight, but i wasnt feeling the lyrics as a whole...every slow song has a gimmick to it... sex 'weed' put on my 'tshirt'. sex in the kitchen, lets just get it on... but i still bump the album and i workout to the 'rap' tracks with elephant man, baby, etc,etc.. but kellz owe us for next time...

I didnt like his raggaeton route on the album, they dont belong on the 12-play series and for me are easily forgotton, the slow jams are IMO classics and fully justify being placed on a TP album. The only trax I listen to on the album are:

    Sex In The Kitchen
    Slow Wind
    Put My T-shirt On
    Remote Control
    Kickin' It With Your Girlfriend
    Touchin'
    Sex Weed
(Sex) Love is What Were Makin'

Thats more than 1/2 the album (minus TITC)!!

Thats kinda what im saying with this thread, I can only name artists on ONE hand that I can listen to more than 50-75% of their album and really enjoy it.

I think we hold Kells to high-standards, which we should... ;)

I agree with maxx..what started out as one song overtook the album due to the frenzy over TITC ..which left an unbalanced album...don't get me wrong..just like AZ stated his quality is still better than most, but not quite up to his own standard. I think his next album will be back on track and more focused.

When I listen to TP.3, I listen to Happy Summetime (great!), Slow Wind (fantastic!), Put My T-Shirt On (masterpiece!), Remote Control (amazing!), and Kickin' It With Your Girlfriend (good). That's five out of the first 7 songs on the album. However, after KIWYG I press the stop button and that's it.

I'm excited about Rob's next album which will be released (mark my words y'all! ;)) in March 2007.
